Happy Christmas from us all at Kirkwood Wilson!

2016 has certainly been a year of adventure and change, both in the world at large and here at Kirkwood Wilson!

With Brexit and the impact of the US elections, many of our clients have had to cope with uncertainty of exchange rates and yet have been busy producing good profits. At Kirkwood Wilson, we have therefore been involved in a great deal of tax planning, advising on optimum dividend levels and purchase of company assets. 2017 promises to be an equally challenging year, with the introduction of the new rules in ‘Making Tax Digital’ and we have been gearing up to ensure that we are able to offer the best advice developing expertise in Xero and Quickbooks.

In November, we made the biggest move in our history, moving from our offices in Kensington Road, Southport to our brand new, purpose built unit in Burscough. We are delighted with the new offices and feel that they will allow us to offer the best possible service to our clients. If you haven’t already visited, then please do drop in and we would love to show you around.

With our new facilities, we will be offering training and seminars in the New Year and hope that you will be able to take advantage of all of the additional support that we are able to offer.
We have been pleased to welcome two new team members, Katherine in payroll and Katie in accounts. Craig and Georgia continue trying to balance the demands of work with studying for their professional exams, and are both doing really well integrating up to date technology into the systems of our clients.

As evidence of our commitment to innovation, we have introduced our own App and this can be downloaded from the App store. There is a great deal of useful information on the app and useful links to Xero and the HMRC website. We are also making increasing use of our electronic portal to deliver accounts to our clients and obtain their agreement digitally. Hopefully, there will always be a need to pop into the office though, as there is nothing better than a face to face meeting for a good catch up!

On a final note, we would like to thank you very much indeed for your business and friendship during the past year. We pride ourselves on the close working relationship that we have with our clients and we hope that you feel able to come to us with whatever financial concerns that you have. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

From Caroline, Dan and everyone at Kirkwood Wilson
