Putting Charity at the Fore

Kind-hearted clients and contacts from a Southport accountancy practice got into the swing of a charity golf day to raise £2,412 for Queenscourt Hospice.

Kirkwood Wilson Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, based on Kensington Road, swapped their spreadsheets for scorecards to stage their sixth annual fundraiser at Formby Ladies Golf Club.

During the day 68 golfers took to the fairways to compete for the John Pye Trophy, which was won by Renaissance Hair Reborn from Chorley. The fundraiser also featured an auction and a raffle for prizes, such as a signed LFC shirt, 4-Ball vouchers for Formby Golf Club, S & A Golf Club and a voucher for B & B at MacDonald Old England Hotel and Spa plus much more.

Caroline Wilson, Managing Director, said: “It was great to play golf with so many of our clients and people we do business with, who kindly gave their time to support such a worthwhile cause as Queenscourt Hospice, which has supported a number of my staff through family bereavement, and made it such a memorable and successful event.

“The annual charity competition, the John Pye Challenge, is held in memory of my account manager’s husband, who passed away suddenly with dilated cardiomyopathy. We are delighted to raise such a fantastic amount once again for this charity fundraiser, and would like to thank everyone who took part and donated the wonderful prizes we had on offer.”
